If pain is interfering with your life and you’re not sure what to do next, you may
want to read this blog!
Hello, my name is Dr. Debra Manning and I am an acupuncturist and holistic health practitioner.
Today is week one of my Light and Healing series, and I want to start with
something really important —
your body is made to heal!
Healing is not something we force. It’s something we support.
So many people come to me feeling frustrated. They say,
‘Why isn’t my body responding anymore?’
‘I’m doing all the right things’
What most people don’t realize is that the body doesn’t just run on chemistry
— it runs on information and energy.
And one of the most powerful forms of information your body responds to is light.
Light isn’t just something we see with our eyes.
Light is something your cells respond to.
Every cell in your body is constantly receiving signals telling it to:
• repair
• calm down
• produce energy
• reduce inflammation
When those signals are clear, healing happens naturally.
When those signals get disrupted — by stress, pain, trauma, inflammation or
illness — the body gets confused.
That’s when symptoms show up.
In Traditional Chinese medicine, we talk about Qi — energy flow.
Pain and illness happen when that flow becomes blocked or weakened.
You may feel that something is just not right but nothing is showing up in
your labwork or MRI’s. So you are told that we will just have to watch it and
re-elevate in a few months. So more suffering.
Acupuncture helps restore that flow.
Light helps strengthen the signal.
When you use light-based therapies along with acupuncture, I’m helping you to
help your body remember what it already knows what to do.
Next week, I’ll be talking about pain and inflammation — and why they don’t
always mean damage.
Thank you for reading my blog. Your body wants to heal — sometimes it just
needs the right signals.
